Coatzacoalcos, August 13, 2015.
A delegation of the Popular Republic of China, on a working trip to the southern part of the state, visited today the Port of Coatzacoalcos in order to promote the development of trans-isthmus corridor that would link the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean.


In a private meeting Dr. Ovidio Noval Nicolau, CEO of the Port of Coatzacoalcos together with Ing. Angel Perez Cantu, Director General of the Port of Salina Cruz and representation of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec Railroad received the Chinese delegation. Noval Nicolau gave a welcome message in which welcomed the visit, which aims to determine business opportunities and stimulate trade between the two countries, building infrastructure and strategic locations of the ports of Salina Cruz and Coatzacoalcos.

The Asian delegation toured the port area of Laguna de Pajaritos, there observed the progress of the construction of warehouses 1 and 2, also known pier 1p and patios. Also visited the nearly completed Ethylene XXI project and the construction of petrochemical plant Idesa Group, investors were accompanied by URBIS Corporate Group, a Mexican company dedicated to the development of important projects in the country.

Subsequently, Dr. Ovidio Noval Nicolau, presented the geographical advantages of the port, which have placed Api Coatzacoalcos in the first half of this year as the first port nationally in total charge, operating an average of 14 million 800 thousand tons. Stressed the interest of the Federal Government to make major investments in Coatzacoalcos, in order to increase port infrastructure lagoon birds and thus contribute to projects that would detonate the growth of the Mexican southeast.


For its part, the port of Salina Cruz announced expansion projects are there, these include promotion and logistics in its area of influence, said Angel Perez Cantu.

Thus, the Port of Coatzacoalcos works to strengthen trade relations with other countries to attract investment to the region.
