May 18, 2020

The Integral Port Administration of Coatzacoalcos, S.A. de C.V., with the purpose of facilitating the continuity in the operations of transport and maritime commerce, reinforces the activities in the combat of the COVID-19.

Since the beginning of the health contingency through the various social media platforms it has, the Entity has joined the # Stay in House campaign that the Government of the Republic and the Ministry of Health have implemented with the aim of disseminating the following indications:

• Stay home when you have respiratory ailments, see a doctor if any of the symptoms appear (fever higher than 38 ° C, headache, sore throat, runny nose, cough, etc.)

• Use of mouth mask.
• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, use 70% alcohol-based gel.
• Avoid hugging and waving.
• Use the label sneeze, which consists of covering the nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or with the internal angle of the arm.
• Do not touch your face, nose, mouth, and eyes with dirty hands.
• Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects of common use in: home, closed places, meeting centers, offices, schools, etc.

In the port areas of Coatzacoalcos and Laguna de Pajaritos, approximately 2,800 people enter regularly between; Authorities, Assigns, Service Providers, Carriers and visitors, with the purpose of carrying out different activities that promote port development.

Therefore, Lic. Antonio Luna Rosales, General Director of API Coatzacoalcos, instructed the Operations Management so that as of March 15th, it would issue the following instructions for protection personnel at the different access control points :

• Keep a visual expectation pending for any user of the port who presents evident signs of illness.
• Mandatory use inside the portboca's port enclosures.
• Take the temperature to the person, placing the digital infrared thermometer at 10 cm. from the forehead. Ask the person if they have the following symptoms: fever, cough, malaise, and respiratory distress. Record in a special log the result of the temperature, name, address, contact telephone number and area where the person works.
• Placement of preventive signs, which indicate avoiding large groups of people and that these become a possible source of contagion.

Luna Rosales stressed that specific actions are disseminated among API Coatzacoalcos personnel such as:

• Work meetings with the support of videoconferences, or if required, meetings with the necessary participants and keeping the corresponding distance.
• Home office for personnel who do not perform functions that compromise the operability of the areas.
• Temperature taking at the entrance of the administrative building.
• Use of mouth mask.
• Wash hands frequently with soap and water, and use 70% alcohol-based gel.
• Sanitization of workplaces.

The foregoing, with the purpose of inviting the port community to contribute as far as possible, we recall that from April 20, the Coatzacoalcos Bicentennial Park closed its doors to visitors, as well as guided tours of the port area Coatzacoalcos were also suspended.

In this way, Puerto Coatzacoalcos, Mexico's leader in total cargo, contributes to the care of the maritime-port community and points out that the ports do not stop.
