Federal projects, opportunity to attract more cargo

Around 30,000 tons of railroad track will be imported through the Port of Coatzcaoalcos, destined for section 1; comprising of Palenque, Tab.-Escárcega, Cam., as part of the Mayan Train project.

Recently, the supplies arrived through the Ferrobuques service with the established route between Coatzacoalcos, Ver. Mex., And Mobile, Al. USA.





• Ferrobuque Banda Sea: 12 flat with 1,069 tons.

• Ferrobuque Bali Sea: 16 flats with 1,451 tons.

It is expected that the remaining tons will continue to be transported on board the designated vessels; in 14 planes, with an estimated average of 1,269 tons per arrival and will be transferred by road to their final destination during the next 9 months.

Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT), as of July of last year, registered through this port the importation of several lots of rail with dimensions of 24.5 mt. long and weighing 1.3 tons, consolidating a total of 8,300 tons, with the vision of modernizing the rail route between the ports of Coatzacoalcos and Salina Cruz.

The Port of Coatzacoalcos has the infrastructure, specialized assignees and experience in handling various loads. Therefore, it foresees in the immediate future that the projects that are developed in its area of influence will end here.
