Today marks "International Mother Earth Day," proclaimed by the United Nations (UN) in 2009 as a global call to protect our environment and promote sustainable development.

At the National Port System Administration (ASIPONA) Coatzacoalcos, our commitment to environmental care is constant. We implement responsible actions such as the cultivation and conservation of red, white, and black mangroves—species that are fundamental to ecological balance.

In line with this commitment, one of the most significant milestones has been the certification granted by the Ministry of the Environment of the State of Veracruz (SEDEMA), establishing a Private Conservation Area (APC) of 2,087 hectares within the port precinct in the Laguna de Pajaritos area.

Key Actions Taken:

  • Rescue and relocation of mangroves.
  • Cleanup of natural areas and the establishment of a forest nursery.
  • Composting and organic waste management.

These initiatives contribute to the preservation of local ecosystems, which are vital for marine life and the mitigation of climate change effects.

At ASIPONA Coatzacoalcos, we work with responsibility and commitment to protect our environment and build a sustainable future for generations to come.
