From 27 to 29 July, he held the X Regular Meeting of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP), entitled "Partnerships with the private sector for port development" where initiatives for sustainable port development were presented, secure and competitive in Latin America.

At the meeting, Mexico was elected to lead this important Advisory Body of the OAS, the responsibility will rest with the Lic. Guillermo Ruiz de Teresa, General Coordinator of Ports and Merchant Marine (SCT) to chair the only governmental forum on the continent highest level, promoting hemispheric port development of this region in the period 2016-2018. Similarly our country was chosen to head the Chair of the Advisory Technical Committee -CTC- Port Management, Sustainability and Environmental Protection, one of six CTC available to the CIP.

At this important meeting, the National Port System was represented by a delegation composed of Mexican Fernando Gamboa.- Deputy Director General Priority Projects Development Maritime and Port Administration, Ricardo Martinez Suarez.- CEO - Port, Ovidio Noval Nicolau.- Director General of the Port of Coatzacoalcos, Hector Bautista.- Director General of Puerto Ensenada, Jorge Ruiz Ascencio.- Director General of the Port of Tuxpan, Jesus Orozco Alfaro.- Director General of the Port of Tampico, Raul Torre Gamboa.- Director General of the Port Progress, Jose Carlos Rodriguez Montemayor.- director General of the Port of Altamira, Miguel Angel Servin Hernández.- director General of Puerto Dos Bocas and Angel Eduardo González Zamora.

The CIP is a consultative body of the Organization of American States (OAS) and its member states, responsible for issues concerning the development of the port sector, with the aim of cooperation, active participation and collaboration of private initiative, Commission holds a regular meeting every two years.

The X Regular Meeting of the CIP, culminating in the full approval of the 35 countries in the region with the "Declaration and Plan of Action of Montevideo (2016-2018)".
