Port area in Laguna de Pajaritos is transformed

With a total investment of $ 495 million pesos, and the creation of 875 jobs, new infrastructure was built in the port area of the lagoon Pajaritos, with the purpose of Coatzacoalcos becoming the competitive link in the Federal Government chain, through the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec



On a working tour of the Veracruz state, Lic. Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Constitutional President of the United Mexican States, visited the Port of Coatzacoalcos where he held various activities; As the tour to the port area of the lagoon Pajaritos, there he made the ribbon cutting of port infrastructure works, he was accompanied by: Lic. Rosa Ícela Rodríguez Velázquez, Secretary of Public and Citizen Security, Ing. Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, Governor of the State from Veracruz, ALM. Eduardo Redondo Arámburo, Undersecretary of the Navy, Lic. Rafael Marín Mollinedo, General Director of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, ICN. Miguel Ángel Sierra Carrasco, General Director of the Comprehensive Port Administration of Coatzacoalcos, Eng. Herman Deustch Espino, Head of the Infrastructure and Transportation Unit of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Lic. Jesús Ramírez Cuevas, General Coordinator of Social Communication and Spokesperson of the Government of the Republic.



The enclosure in the lagoon Pajaritos, is a multipurpose port, the proximity to the petrochemical industries shows it. For this reason, it already has the following infrastructure:

Construction of a 130 mt dock. x 35 mt., benefit: Added to the 270 mt., already existing, increases the berthing capacity to 400 mt., allowing the operation of 2 ships of up to 180 mt., length simultaneously, dock with a load capacity of 10 ton / m2., jobs: 160 direct and 376 indirect, investment: $ 330 million pesos.



4-lane road access, benefit: Increase of access road from 2 to 4 lanes and reduction of time and distance by 15 min. and 2 km. for access to the facilities of the Pajaritos dock, jobs: 88 direct and 125 indirect investment: $ 49 million pesos.



Construction dredging (500 thousand m3) and maintenance (150 thousand m3), benefit: Allow access to vessels up to 39 feet draft, an increase of 5 feet equivalent to 5,000 additional tons per vessel, jobs: 109 direct and 17 indirect, investment: $ 116 million pesos, current status: 42% advance.



The place is complemented by: 4 warehouses for the total storage of 56,000 tons of various loads, administrative building, perimeter fence, LED lighting, among others.

Port of Coatzacoalcos, takes a turn of the helm and continues navigating on the route of expansion and development.
